Summer time means one thing: wedding season. Whether you’re the bride-to-be or a member of the wedding party, use these guidelines for appropriate hair do’s (and a few hair don’ts) this wedding season.1. Do: test out hairdos in advance. This gives you the opportunity to make sure that a hairstyle that looks great in a magazine will look great on you in real life. Don’t: wait until the day of your wedding to get your hair done. The style you want may not mesh well with your dress or your hair type.
2. Do: pick out your hair accessories carefully. Make sure that you both love them and that they match the rest of your outfit without drawing too much attention away from your dress. Don’t: over-accessorize with hair accessories. Simple is always better, and finding one or two hair accessories to complement your hair do and dress will look infinitely better than overdoing it.
3. Do: consider a range of styles for your hair do. Just because your wedding is a formal occasion doesn’t mean that you have to have an up ‘do. Half up ‘dos and hair left down can still look stunning and elegant when styled well. Don’t: ignore your dress, theme, and wedding decor when trying to decide on a wedding hair style. Your hairdo should fit in with the overall theme and style of your wedding.
4. Do: find a hair stylist who specializes in wedding hair. While your regular stylist might be great at hair color and cutting, they may not necessarily be a pro at formal hairstyles or creating a unique hairdo. Don’t: go with the first wedding hair stylist you find. Book a few appointments months in advance to get a feel for each stylist and find one that you feel comfortable with and that has solid referrals.
