4 Fashion Week Hair Trends We Love

Fashion Week is always a main attraction in New York, and to celebrate, we’re going to recap some of our favorite hair and accessory trends that we’ve seen strutting down the runway.

1. Twisted Tresses – A huge trend on multiple runways this season was the 40’s inspired twisted look, where locks from the front of the head are twisted backwards, towards the base of the neck, and secured in place. This style can be worn both up and down, so it’s great for moving from day to night. Carolina Herrera spotlighted this trend the most with her runway show.

2. The Messy Bun – The messy bun was one of our summer staples, but it’s so quick, easy, and versatile that it’s made it’s way into Fall, as well. Simple pull hair back into a ponytail, twist and wrap around into a bun, and secure in place with a few bobby pins. Leave small wisps of hair out to create a more casual look.

3. 70’s Curls – A big theme for Marc Jacobs this season was large 70’s inspired curls, slightly brushed out to create a wild feminine look. It’s easy to re-create and all you need is a few small rollers, a hair brush and some light hair spray to hold everything in place. And, if you want to make it a little more put together, use a small hair clip or bobby pin to pull the sides back for a more pulled together look.

4. Flat and Straight – For the DKNY runway, it was all about 60’s and 70’s inspired razor straight hair, parted directly in the middle, with no frills. While this look won’t work for everyone, depending on the length and texture of your hair, it’s an easy way to keep hair kempt without a lot of update and maintenance.
