We’ve mentioned before on our Facebook page that more and more celebrities and pop culture icons are coming out about wearing hairpieces, but wigs are nothing new to the Hollywood elite. Here are three famous ladies who’ve been donning a wig do since the 60’s.
1. Dolly Parton – Even though she has said she doesn’t suffer from hair loss, Dolly Parton has been wearing wigs every since she entered the entertainment industry. Mostly stemming from the fact that her hair is very fine and is difficult to style, she chooses wigs because of the variety and ease-of-use and is a very vocal advocate of hair pieces.
2. Tina Turner – According to third party accounts, Tina Turner experienced hair loss after a hair dying incident and began wearing wigs in the 60’s. That trend has apparently lasted decades and has become common place for her. In fact, Turner has been called one of the wig industry’s biggest supporters.
3. Cher – Like Dolly Parton, Cher doesn’t suffer from alopecia or any other type of hair loss, but she does consistently wear wigs on a day-to-day basis. Whether its for fashion or for function, Cher chooses the variety of wearing wigs and being able to quickly change styles, colors and cuts.
